Owls Head Fine Arts Afternoon

Owls Head Fine Arts Afternoon

On the afternoon of May 31st the students of Owls Head Central School, under the direction of both Miss and Mrs. Johnson, put on their annual spring music extravaganza. The students were decked out in their spring finery and so was the school! Wonderful artwork from Ms. Allison Livengood’s art classes was evident everywhere including all around the edges of the stage. If you did not get a chance to see the artwork there are some pieces on the photo galleries on the RSU13 website.

The concert began with a number of pieces of music done by the 5th grade band, including a clarinet and trumpet duet! Under the direction of Miss Emily Johnson, these students have made wonderful progress in beginning band. They really sound good!

Next on the concert bill was the vocal portion under the direction of Mrs. Angela Johnson. The fifth grade sang some fun and upbeat songs and even danced to “Mama Paquita”! Next up was the third grade with a piano solo from a student, a collection of songs from Disney and solos, duets, trios & quartets! Fourth grade concluded the concert with two student piano solos, a cello solo, a vocal quintet and music from Broadway musicals done in song and American Sign Language and some spoken parts. WOW! Well done! Congratulations to the wonderful students and staff at Owls Head!
